It is found that a crystallized aluminosilicate glass having needlelike Ca 4 Y 6 O(SiO 4 ) 6 crystals is machinable. Densities, Vickers hardnesses, Young's moduli, thermal expansion coefficients, and fracture toughnesses of the crystallized glasses were measured.
