The seeded transformation of boehmite‐derived alumina was studied by transmission electron microscopy. Crystallographic analysis confirmed that the growth of α‐Al 2 O 3 on α‐Fe 2 O 3 seed crystals occurs by solid‐phase epitaxy, with the orientation relationship [0001] Al2O3 ||[0001] Fe2O3 and [11 2 0] Al2O3 ||[11 2 0 Fe2O3 .
