The densities of seven rare‐earth sesquioxides and yttrium sesquioxide were measured in the liquid state in the temperature range from melting point to ∼3200 K. An aerodynamic levitation technique and laser‐heating method were used. The variation of volume at fusion for these oxides was deduced from these results and known data for the solid phases.
