The dissolution of Al 2 O 3 , MgAl 2 O 4 . Y 3 Al 5 O 12 , MgO, and other refractory oxides in molten Ca‐Al silicates is heterogeneous over significant temperature and silicate composition ranges with the formation of at least one solid reaction product at the oxide‐silicate interface.
