The sodium titanates Na 4 TiO 4 , α, β‐, and γ‐Na 2 TiO 3 , Na 8 Ti 5 O 14 , Na 2 Ti 3 O 7 , and Na 2 Ti 6 O 13 , all of which can be synthesized in the temperature range 800° to 1200°C, have been characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy. The existing XRD data have been critically reviewed and several inconsistencies and errors have been identified.
