A modification of the conventional poling procedure for piezoelectric materials was investigated because of inconsistencies in the literature. Preliminary investigations appeared to support the theory of ac‐assisted poling. However, a temperature studyl limited duty cycle experiment seemed to indicate that the increase in piezoelectric response (d 33 coefficient) was probably due to heat produced by the body in resonance.
