The use of BPO 4 in the synthesis of crystalline AlPO 4 has been investigated. The best results are obtained if BPO 4 and hydrated alumina are heated in molten KCl: at 1050°C the conversion degree of BPO 4 into AlPO 4 is >90% (in 4 h). The product consists of the tridymite AlPO 4 form.
