Distorted cubic PbTiO 3 crystallizes from an amorphous material prepared by the simultaneous hydrolysis of lead and titanium alkoxides. It can be preserved at room temperature by quenching and has a unit cell with a =0.3978 nm. The structure contains octahedral TiO 6 , groups.
