Phase structures of two ceramics of Compositions BaNd 2 Ti 5 O 14 and Ba 3.75 Nd 9.5 Ti 18 O 54 , both of which had earlier been reported to be single‐phase materials, were investigated using electron microscopy and an electron probe microanalyzer. It was observed that the amount of secondary phases was much lower in ceramics prepared with the latter composition and that the composition of the matrix phase of both samples was near 4BaO·5 Nd 2 O 3 ·18TiO 2 . These results indicate that only the composition Ba 3.75 Nd 9.5 Ti 18 O 54 is a single‐phase composition.
