Liquid‐liquid phase separation is observed in a mixed ZrF 4 ‐ThF 4 glass by the measurement of a double glass transition in the specific heat. This effect, seldom seen before in other glasses and never previously seen in halide glasses, is clear evidence that fluoride glasses are susceptible to subliquidus amorphous phase transitions.
