Deposits of S 0 ; and Na 2 SO 4 together in bubbles within production float glass are generated by disproportionation of SO 2 , derived from dissolved SO 3 , in company with Na 2 O from the interior bubble surfaces. This reaction proceeds rapidly in molten glass and also at temperatures well below T g .
