A model is presented for finding the cheapest and least‐sensitive batch composition that meets a set of specified physical properties of a glass. The model is tested on two glasses reported in the literature and is shown to be a useful tool for simulating the consequences of a change either in the desired properties of a glass or in the composition and/or set of batch materials.
