The composition limits for the spinel solid solution Fe(Fe 1‐x Al x ) 2 O 4 were determined experimentally as a function of oxygen pressure at 1280°, 1380°, and 1500°C, using precise lattice parameter measurements. The results were combined with information from the literature to develop self‐consistent stability diagrams of P 02 vs cation fraction at constant temperatures for the iron‐aluminum oxide system.
