The system HfO2‐EuzO3 was investigated at ∼5 mol% intervals over a temperature range of 960° to 1900°C, by X‐ray analysisof quenched specimens. Liquidus temperature measurements made over the entire system showed the lowest liquidus temperature of 1930°± 15°C to be located at ∼96 mol% Eu 2 O 3 A large fluorite solid solution region was also found to exist at higher Of HfO 2 concentrations over the entire temperature range.
