Solid‐fission‐product diffusion was studied in pyrolytic carbon (PyC) coated particles. A method for determining diffusion coefficients is described. Changes in fission‐product concentration profiles in the PyC are measured as a function of post‐irradiation annealing time and temperature. The influence of irradiation history and type of PyC on the diffusion behavior of Cs isotopes is demonstrated.
