The influence of an external dc electric field on the Pb content near the interface between float glass and molten Pb was studied at 500°C. The diffusion coefficient and velocity of Pb ions in the external electric field were determined, and the theoretical time dependence of Pb content in the glass was calculated. A theoretical model of ion transport phenomena in the system is suggested.
