The axial thermal expansion coefficients of 2 samples of β‐eucryptite were measured. At room temperature one sample showed an ordered distribution and the other a disordered distribution of the Al, Si, and Li atoms. The thermal expansion of the axes and the cell volume are explained in terms of a temperature‐dependent dynamic disorder process of the Li atoms.
