Polycrystalline compacts of lithium ferrite with varying stoichiometry were sintered using a packing‐powder technique and high‐O 2 atmosphere to control the material loss from the system. These specimens were used to study the influence of sintering time and temperature and stoichiometry on the densification, microstructural characteristics, dc resistivity, and hysteresis‐loop parameters of lithium ferrite. The influence of the packing‐powder composition was also investigated.
