The magnetic behavior of β‐NaFeO 2 precipitated in compositions along the Na 2 SiO 3 ‐Fe 2 O 3 join of the Na 2 O‐Fe 2 O 3 ‐SiO 2 system is reported from magnetic susceptibility data and Moessbauer studies. The anomalous magnetic properties observed are discussed in terms of the possibility of the presence of super‐paramagnetism.
