The effects of thermal treatment, crystalline phases, and crystal size on thermolumineseence in the system ZrO 2 −H 2 O were studied. The results suggest that thermolumineseence is not affected by the water content and that it is strongly dependent on the degree of crystallinity and on crystal size. An interpretation of the changes in the glow curves is suggested on the basis of the data.
