The degree of lanthanum coprecipitation attained in the synthesis of semiconducting BaTiO 3 by chemical precipitation of the mixed oxalates was determined by radioactive tracer techniques. The factors affecting reproducibility and efficiency of precipitation were determined and a probable mechanism for the incorporation of the lanthanum is proposed.
