Calculation of Oxygen Ion Activities in Sodium Silicate and Sodium Borate Melts

Activity data were calculated using the previously reported results for the variation of oxygen ion activity with composition and the best available thermodynamic data for the heats of formation of sodium monoxide, carbon dioxide, and sodium carbonate. The results are discussed in the light of the data for other systems and recent concepts of the structure of melts.
