Infrared absorption spectra are shown for monoclinic ZrO 2 and for cubic stabilized ZrO 2 . Nine bands are reported in monoclinic ZrO 2 in the region 800 to 200 cm −l , whereas only one broad band is observed in cubic ZrO 2 over the same frequency range.
