An Fe 2 O 3 precipitate formed by overoxidation of a manganese‐zinc ferrite develops a Widmanstätten structure. A single‐crystal X‐ray study has shown the following relative orientations:This orientation gives only a 3% mismatch between the oxygen framework of the ferrite and the Fe 2 O 3 precipitate.
