Calcination of Calcite: II, Size and Growth Rate of Calcium Oxide Crystallites

The size and the growth rate of CaO crystallites were determined by X‐ray diffraction. The crystallites exhibited an extremely rapid rate of growth near 1650°F. Activation energies were obtained from the growth rates by means of the Arrhenius relationship.
