On the basis of special techniques described, new data on the adherence phenomenon of cobalt ground‐coat enamels were obtained and the hydrogen‐ reduction theory developed. It was shown that cobalt oxide of the enamel is reduced to cobalt metal which forms a bond with the iron and the enamel
