A bstract Standard‐size 9‐in. brick with a weight of 5 lb. were successfully processed. Some of these brick had linear shrinkages of less than 1% in the A.S.T.M. load test at 1450°C. and less than 2% volume shrinkage in the 1600°C. A.S.T.M. reheat test. The pyrometric cone equivalent was 37 or above.
