A bstract Expanded Vermiculite has been studied for use with a low vitrifying plastic clay bond to form structural clayware, such as partition tile and bathroom tile, which may carry glazed coatings in decorative effects. The advantages of this material are its low thermal conductivity, its relatively high strength as compared to its specific gravity, and the ease with which it can be cut and fitted into installations.
