Twenty‐eight ceramic bodies of the three‐component system, MgO‐Al 2 O 3 .SiO 2 , with additions of various fluxes, such as feldspar, beryl, spodumene, nepheline syenite, and other glassforming compositions and their vitrification range between cone 13 and cone 15 have been investigated. The electrical and mechanical properties, thermal expansion, and resistance against electrical power arcs are given.
