A bstract A series of pyrometric cones that measure temperature independent of the rate of heating has been developed. These cones are mixtures of inorganic salts and melt congruently. Melting‐point data are presented for the three binary systems MgSO 4 ‐Li 2 SO 4 , K 2 SO 4 ‐KBr, and Na 2 SO 4 ‐NaBr.
