A bstract A brief discussion of the properties of halloysite is presented, together with the results of tests made on the firing behavior of halloysite from Lawrence County, Mo. The high refractoriness, apparent colloidal nature, and excellent white color are the outstanding favorable qualities, while the extreme firing shrinkage appears to be the only unfavorable feature.
