A bstract It has been found that the deposit of Mo(OH) 3 , produced when steel is made the cathode in a solution of ammonium molybdate, will cause a white enamel to adhere to steel. A theory is advanced, as a possible explanation, that the deposited coating prevents the formation of excess iron oxide which would weaken the enamel‐iron bond.
