A bstract Using the electric thickness gage, a study of broken enamel parts from the assembly floor and field has shown that it is more economical to take an immediate scrap loss on all parts which have an enamel thickness of 27 mils or more than to use the parts and pay the subsequent replacement costs. A brief discussion of the gage and its uses in the enamel shop are also given.
