A bstract A simple and comparatively inexpensive apparatus for determining the relative abrasion resistance of enamels is described. Abrasion is obtained by fixing the specimen in the path of a stream of sand, propelled by a rapidly revolving disk. The severity of the abrasive action is dependent upon the particle size of the abrasive. Data are given as to the comparative resistance both to severe and mild abrasion of several enamel types.
