A comparison is made of the results of particle‐size determinations by screening, elutriation, and microscopic count. Particular stress is laid on those sizes under 325‐mesh (44 microns). The results obtained indicate that the microscope offers a quick practical method of sufficient accuracy to warrant its use in such work.
