Meltings were made of several soda‐bismuth‐silica and potash‐bismuth‐silica glasses. Data are given on refractive index, mean dispersion, and specific gravity. In general, the refractive index, specific gravity, and durability of bismuth glasses are higher than those of the corresponding lead glasses.
