There is described a small furnace, particularly suitable for experimental work in ceramics. This furnace is unique in that temperatures sufficiently high for nearly all operations in ceramics can be obtained by the use of a standard Méker burner. The temperature can be brought up rapidly and can be held steadily. The construction of the furnace makes it comparatively simple and inexpensive.
