The continuous furnace is replacing the box‐type furnace because of its savings in labor, fuel, and floor space, its indirect savings in quality, production, and cost control, as well as its simplified supervision. It has also made further savings possible by the application of the continuous principle to other enamel shop operations, continuous spraying, for example.
