ABSTRACT A questionnaire sent to a number of clay mfgs. elicited the information: (1) better sagger cost system needed; carborundum and Na SiO are frequent constituents of the sagger body; (3) jaw crusher better than pan grog ; (4) sagger containing 30 per cent carborundum and lasting 20 or more fires is economical.
