SUMMARY A new hydroid, resembling the hydroid of Cladonema radiatum in possessing only an oral whorl of capitate tentacles and an aboral whorl of reduced filiform tentacles, was reared in aquaria at São Paulo, Brazil. Its medusa was reared and proved to be a new species of medusa of the genus Dipurena , here described as D. reesi . Keys are provided to separate this from other known species, and some observations on the biology of the species are made.
