SUMMARY. A new species of the genus Ricardoella , living in the nasal cavities of the South African toad, Bufo regularis , is described. The features in which it differs from the two known species of the genus, R. limacum (Schrank) and R. crassidens (Berlese & Trouessart), are enumerated. It does not occur in large numbers, but does not appear to be uncommon on Bufo regularis. Reasons are given for believing that the mite may be a blood feeder rather than a mucus feeder, thus differing from R. limacum.
