Summary.1 Eleven oriental species of the genus Oxyopes have been re‐examined and accurate drawings made of the parts essential for their identification. 2 As a result these eleven species are shown to be separate and distinct from each other, though superficially markedly similar at first sight, e. g. (1) O. papuanus Thor. is apparently not the same as O. striatus Dol. as suggested by Thorell, (2) O. birmanicus Thor. is not “possibly identical with O. similaris Stol.” as stated by Pocock.
