Summary. This paper describes an interesting specimen of a Sarcophagid fly (probably Sarcophaga albiceps Mg.) which displays intersexual characters. Apart from the terminalia, the fly exhibits male characters; in the terminalia itself male and female sclerites can be recognized; the internal generative organs of both sexes are also present. This specimen appears to support the view that the pregenital plate (synsternite 7–8) of calypterate cyclorrhaphous Diptera is composed of two sclerites: sternites 7 and 8. It also seems to indicate that tergites 7 and 8 are absent in the higher Diptera.
