Summary. A hitherto unexamined specimen of Rhinoceros sondaicus Desm. in the South Australian Museum is recorded. Attention is drawn to uncertainty in the diagnostic value of some cranial and dental characters formerly used in separating sondaicus and unicornis , following upon the recent work of Pocock. The skull of the present specimen is compared with a skull of unicornis , and on the whole found to accord with the earlier statements of Flower, etc. Dimensions of the two skulls are quoted and a revised inventory of museum specimens of sondaicus given.
