S ummary A new Acanthocephala, Leipercanthus gallinarum , gen. et sp. n., obtained from the intestine of a fowl in Muktesar (India), has been described. The worm is characterized by the possession of two pairs of sacs, named paraproboscideal sacs, situated at the base of proboscis. These peculiar structures have not been so far observed in any Acanthocephala and are altogether new organs in the organization of this group. The worm has been referred to a new family—Leiperacanthidæ.
