S ummary .1 There is little or no justification for the modern theory that the feeding of Calanoid Copepodes is ether automatic or non‐selective, nor is it in accordance with the work of Lebour and Marashall on the investigation of gut‐contents. 2 Nine species have been examined critically. 3 The feeding of Calanus finmarchicus is neither automatic nor non‐selective. It also diffes consideraly from that of D. castor . 4 The movement of the antennæ of Eurytemora velox has been investigated, chiefly 1 y ultra ‐rapid photograpy. 5 Gurney's conclusion that the Centropagina are the more primitve group, and not the Calanina, is supported. 6 The maxillæ and maxillipeds of the Centropagina are in general raptorial, and not fitratory. 7 The femals of Eucháta norvegica feed almost entirely on Calannus finmarchicus.
