Amoebic gill disease (AGD)‐affected Atlantic salmon Salmo salar sometimes developed a serum‐antibody response to wild‐type Neoparamoeba spp. Five of 103 AGD‐affected S. salar sampled possessed detectable antibodies that bound wild‐type Neoparamoeba spp. western blotting revealed two distinctly different binding profiles.
