Due to its universality, speed, sensitivity, precision and reproducibility, PCR followed by fluorescence SSCP analysis represents an attractive tool for the characterization of Mhc class II B genotypes and the estimation of DNA sequence variability of Mhc genes in natural stickleback Gasterosteus aculeatus populations.
