The growth curve of the California killifish Fundulus parvipinnis was estimated from length–frequency data using FiSAT software. The population structure was calculated and was extrapolated over the total area of the lagoon to estimate the total biomass. Using published data of oxygen consumption and ancillary data, the consumption of food by killifish was also estimated. Production of the species was via the first derivative of the von BertalanVy growth curve. This approach is proposed for other species whose biology is described in the literature.
