The Sumatra barb Barbus tetrazona exhibits two trunk banding patterns: a four‐banded and a five‐banded pattern characteristic of B. t. tetrazona and B. t. partipentazona , respectively. Segregation patterns in the progenies from 11 different matings suggest monogenic inheritance of trunk banding in this species.
